Unfortunately my blogs are a bit behind and this one will be dedicated to Halloween and the festivities that surrounded it. As some of you may have seen, I went to Seattle this weekend and had an awesome time but that deserves a blog post to itself which will be up this weekend. But onto Halloween. Halloween is a big deal here. We started planning our outfits weeks in advance and went out not once but three times. That meant three costumes. I cheated and re-wore one of them twice, oops! However, Utah being Utah meant that finding the parties that I had seen in the movies and TV shows was a lot harder to find than I thought!. Whilst a few were successes, on Halloween night we walked around the student neighborhood trying to find something to go to, however, it seemed the rest of the student population was also doing the same. We returned home at 1am, very much sober and concluding a night that we thought would be very different to the reality!!! However, Halloween was a fun experience in the US and we made sure to have decorations and Halloween festivities coming up to the day. The university also put on a Halloween themed Crimson Nights which was super fun! We also had a football game on Halloween which was our blackout game. This meant everybody was encouraged to wear black and we did so in full force! I have now got the hang of the game and I am into tracking the success of our football team, currently #10 in the country!!! The game was against Oregon State and we won putting our overall wins to 7-1! People also wore some costumes to the game and it was great fun trying to identify people in the crowd. The workload is starting to pile up here now, I have a lot of papers due in a few weeks and after that its Finals. It seems crazy that the semester is so close to being over, but I still have a lot of look forward to before I go home!
I have Holly and her friends from Colorado coming to stay next week and then we're all travelling to San Francisco for Thanksgiving to celebrate with Anna's family. San Francisco is one of those cities I've always wanted to visit so I can't wait to finally be there! The snow is also starting to fall, which gets me super excited for the Ski season! I've bought my pass to Snowbird and can't wait for the season to start next week and be up on the slopes as often as possible!! Although I do miss home, Swansea, my dance family at Swansea, and my Uni friends, I've fallen in love with Utah.
